Back the Bobcats Spirit week 2025
The San Marcos community takes immense pride in being the home of Texas State University. In the days leading up to the kick-off of Football season, the San Marcos Chamber held this community-wide spirit campaign to encourage local businesses to show support and help welcome to town the thousands of students, alumni and visitors who were circulating for the Bobcats home opener game (Saturday, Aug. 30)!
Local businesses were encouraged to decorate their interiors and exteriors starting in mid-August. Painting the town maroon & gold!
All entries were visited by the “Spirit Squad” on judging day featuring the First Lady of Texas State Beth Damphousse, Bobcat coaching family members Summer Kinne, Marci Coryell and Blair Trout, Assistant Coach David Bailiff, and Chamber president Page Michel, who made the rounds to see their Bobcat spirit and take photos!
There are 4 categories in the Back the Bobcats decorating contest: Best Exterior, Best Interior, Best Window Signage and First Timer’s Award. What can you win? Winners receive H-E-B gift cards, tickets to the Home Opener with on-field recognition, Bobcat swag and awesome bragging rights!
