The San Marcos community takes immense pride in being the home of Texas State University. In the weeks leading up to the 2023 Football season, the San Marcos Chamber held this community-wide spirit campaign to encourage local businesses to show support for the University and help welcome to town the thousands of students and visitors who will be circulating before the first Texas State home game!

The response was amazing! Local businesses decorated their interiors and exteriors. They “painted the town” maroon & gold as part of the inaugural Decorating Competition.

There were winners in four categories:

Best Exterior – Gumby’s Pizza

Best Interior – Edward Jones-Thaddeus Watkins

Best Window Signage/Display – Body Shop Movement Studio

Most Spirited – TIED! Edward Jones-Crystal Dixon and KnD’s Boutique
