2024 spirit week: August 26-30

The San Marcos community takes immense pride in being the home of Texas State University. In the weeks leading up to the 2024 Football season, the San Marcos Chamber will hold this community-wide spirit campaign to encourage local businesses to show support for the University and help welcome to town the thousands of students and visitors who will be circulating before the first Texas State home game!

Local businesses are encouraged to decorate their interiors and exteriors starting in mid-August when school is back in session. Let’s paint the town maroon & gold! If you have a competitive edge, sign up for the Back the Bobcats Decorating Contest and take your spirit to the next level!

There are four categories: Best Exterior, Best Interior, Best Window Signage/Display, and Most Spirited. The Most Spirited category is for businesses that demonstrate Bobcat pride through live displays of cheers, dancing/music, employee attire, and other creative outdoor displays on the day of judging!
