Ambassador Club

Mission: Strengthen overall relationship with members by assisting with chamber events and creating awareness of the Chamber in the community.

Ambassadors serve as greeters at Chamber events and foster goodwill among the membership.  Ambassadors are asked to serve for at least one year, and most choose to renew their Ambassadorship.

Business Development Advisory Board

Mission: To serve the small and minority-owned businesses, working closely with all businesses and community leaders and other councils to determine and recommend appropriate subjects of training, information sharing, and general business assessments.

Education Committee

Mission: This committee addresses issues of educational progress in San Marcos by strengthening the partnership between the business community and all available resources including the San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District and Texas State University.  It fosters cooperative programs between business, industry, and education so that students will be prepared for work experiences after graduation from high school, technical training institutions, and college.  It serves as a vital link between local education partners and local businesses.  It encourages business leaders to participate in the classroom by connecting business leaders with education leaders.

Government Affairs Advisory Council

Mission: Review pending and existing legislation and regulations for their impact on business and develop positions that promote the overall best interests of our members. The committee develops programs that inform and encourage members to participate in the Chamber’s government affairs initiatives such as the Annual State of the City.

San Marcos Young Professionals

Mission: The San Marcos Young Professionals provides opportunities to develop professionally through networking, education, community involvement and economic development. The San Marcos Young Professionals is the premier organization in San Marcos for up and coming professionals between the ages of 21 and 45. SMYP engages young adults in the San Marcos community by providing its members with access to social, leadership and civic opportunities.
