The San Marcos community takes immense pride in being the home of Texas State University. In the days leading up to the kick-off of Football season, the San Marcos Chamber held this community-wide spirit campaign to encourage local businesses to show support and help welcome to town the thousands of students, alumni and visitors who would be circulating for the Bobcats home opener game (Aug. 31)!
Local businesses were encouraged to decorate their interiors and exteriors starting in mid-August. Painting the town maroon & gold!
There were 5 categories in the Back the Bobcats decorating contest: Best Exterior, Best Interior, Best Window Signage, Most Spirited and First Timer Award. The Most Spirited category was for live displays of cheers, dancing/music, employee attire, and other creative acts on the day of judging!
