SAN MARCOS, TEXAS – Don’t Doubt Us.
The message couldn’t be clearer from San Marcos CISD Superintendent Dr. Michael Cardona at Thursday’s State of the City & District event.
The event, hosted annually by the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce, brought together business and community leaders to hear San Marcos Mayor Jane Hughson and Dr. Cardona lay out their vision and future of the City and CISD.

Have you heard about the Bond Election coming up for San Marcos CISD? There are 4 proposals included. Prop A is about the “recapture process” (Robin Hood) and must pass in order for taxpayers to avoid a tax rate increase. Props B, C and D all seek to make our local schools safer and more equitable for all students.
The San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors passed a resolution of SUPPORT for all four propositions that will be on the ballot.

San Marcos Chamber, GSMP to host Texas Gov. Greg Abbott for 2023 State of the State Address

AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott and Nexstar Media Inc. today announced that Nexstar television stations across the state of Texas will carry a live telecast of Governor Abbott’s 2023 State of the State address on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 7:00 PM CT, hosted by the Greater San Marcos Partnership and San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce. The speech will air on 16 Nexstar television stations serving 14 Texas media markets and will be telecast throughout the state. As a public service, Nexstar will make the live feed of the telecast available to every broadcast company serving Texas.
San Marcos Chamber Announces 2023 Guiding Principles

These Policies are deemed to be of utmost importance to local businesses and the economic health of the community and region. Chamber members are encouraged to take an active role and be involved in government affairs. The Chamber exists to be the “voice of business” at the local, state and federal level, but members need to stay active by submitting input to the Government Relations Council and Board and encouraging all employees to be informed voters in elections.
TEKrescue named San Marcos Business of the Year

Thursday, November 10th, the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce hosted the 119th Annual Dinner & Awards gala. A crowd of over 300 came together to pay tribute to the accomplishments of the business community and the Chamber over the past 12 months. And this year, we had a lot to celebrate even in times of change and uncertainty.
