The San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) Career and Technical Education (CTE) program, will host the annual S.T.E.A.M. Career Exploration Fair on Saturday, April 11, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at San Marcos High School. The event is free and open to students of all ages and their families.
The S.T.E.A.M. Career Exploration Fair connects students with real-world careers in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics through hands-on activities, interactive exhibits and live demonstrations. The event is designed to spark curiosity, encourage career exploration and highlight pathways available within the local workforce.
Students and families will have the opportunity to engage directly with local businesses, industry professionals and educators representing high-demand fields across the region. Exhibits will feature interactive demonstrations, career exploration stations and engaging activities designed to make learning both accessible and exciting.
“The STEAM Career Exploration Fair is about helping students see what’s possible,” said Page Michel, president and CEO of the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce. “By connecting education with industry, we’re building a stronger talent pipeline and giving students a chance to explore meaningful career opportunities right here in our community.”
The Chamber invites businesses and organizations to participate as exhibitors or sponsors. Exhibitor participation is free and provides an opportunity to showcase careers, demonstrate industry applications and connect with hundreds of students and families. Sponsorship opportunities are also available for organizations seeking to support workforce development while gaining visibility within the community.
The 2026 S.T.E.A.M. Career Exploration Fair is made possible by presenting sponsors CHRISTUS Health and Texas Oncology, whose support underscores a shared commitment to education, workforce development and community impact. Sponsors ad exhibitors confirmed to-date include: CFAN, United Way of Hays & Caldwell Counties, Chuck Nash Auto Group, and City Limits Subaru.
